What exactly IS counselling?

Counselling is professional help for personal issues in a safe and confidential environment. Counsellors respect clients and work ethically: they don't judge or give advice. Counselling gives people a chance to feel heard and understood, and can facilitate changes to make your life better. It can include psychotherapy where we explore past experiences and look back at your personal history to try to get to the root of problems.  I find this can work wonders with most people.  (You are not obliged to talk about anything you do not wish to talk about).

Some issues may be long-standing or reoccurring, and others may be new. Counselling can help with any of these.

People come to counselling for many different reasons, some of which include: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, loss, low self-esteem, health concerns, lack of motivation, feeling judged, work problems, stress and other things too.

How much does it cost?

£60 per session individuals

£80 couple sessions

How do i/we get in touch?

See the 'contact me' page or use the booking link on most pages

Where do sessions take place?

Online, by telephone (telephone can't be used for couples) or face to face (check with me to see if i'm accepting face to face clients)

Can't we just book a 50 minute session as a couple instead of having an online chat first?

No, because i need to check suitability for therapy. You can also use it to ask me any questions etc.
